FAQs
Q: At what temperature should I store my Pepper Spray/MACE?
A:Do not leave your spray in any area that may exceed 125 degrees F or drop below 15 degrees F. Excessive heat or cold may cause the can to leak or burst.
Q: Can I take Pepper Spray/MACE or a Stun Gun on an airplane?
A: No, you cannot carry either spray or a stun gun on an airplane.
Q: Can I use my Pepper Spray/MACE after the indicated expiration date?
A: Like any pressurized aerosol device, over time the unit may not spray as far as expected, if at all. We recommend replacing your spray after the expired date shown on your spray.
Q: Is it legal for me to carry Pepper Spray/MACE?
A: Though legal in all 50 States, a number of cities and states have specific regulations pertaining to the purchase, possession and use of Aerosol Defense Sprays. If you have a question you should contact your local Police Department. Aerosol Defense Sprays are meant for defensive purposes only and can only be sold to or used by persons 18 years or older.
Q: Is Pepper Spray and MACE easy to use?
A:Using these sprays is as easy as spraying bug spray on ants and cockroaches. They are designed for instant action, delivering a wide spray pattern, thus eliminating the need to aim closely. The formula takes effect upon contact.
Q: What is an AIR TASER Device and a Stun Gun?
A: An AIR TASER Device is a hand held, non-lethal self-protection system. It uses compressed air to launch tiny barbs attached to 15 feet of wire. When the probes make contact with the assailant or their clothing, the AIR TASER Device sends powerful electronic pulses (called T-Waves) through the wires which instantly incapacitates the assailant (or attacking animal) for 1 to 15 minutes. The T-Wave output simulates the electronic signals used by human nerves to communicate. Once inside the body, the T-Waves jam normal communication between the brain and body, regardless of size or resistance to pain.
A Stun Gun is a hand-held battery-operated electrical self-defense tool. It can put out an electrical shock of 45,000 to 250,000 volts, depending on the model. When touched to the body of an assailant, the electrical shock causes the person to lose control of their voluntary muscles and fall to the ground in a dazed or unconscious condition, allowing you enough time to get away.
Q: What is Pepper Spray and MACE?
A: Pepper Spray is a defensive product containing Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) as its active ingredient, with a propellent such as nitrogen. Oleoresin Capsicum is derived from concentrated hot red pepper extract. The actual heat producing particles in "OC" are called capsaicinoids. The actual degree of heat by which substances are measured are Scoville Heat Units (SHU).
For example:
· A common green bell pepper has zero SHU's.
· A Jalepeno pepper has approximately 5,000 SHU's.
· The active ingredient in pepper spray has 500,000 SHU's.
The Pepper Spray acts as an inflammatory agent rather than an irritant such as tear gas. The inflamed mucous membrane cells swell to prevent all but life support breathing, giving a choking, coughing and nauseated feeling to the attacker. The subject is physically blinded for a short duration, with no harmful after-effects.
MACE Triple Action is a blend of OC Pepper, CN Tear Gas and UV Ultra-Violet dye. This formula combines the coughing, irritation and watery eyes of Tear Gas and the eye-shutting, burning effect of Pepper to disorient an attacker. The spray should be aimed at the face of an attacker.
MACE Pepper Foam is a 10% OC Pepper formulation with UV Ultraviolet dye that sprays in a thick foam. The foam acts to blindfold and disorient an attacker and cause the same burning and closing of the eyes as traditional liquid pepper sprays. The spray should be aimed at the face of an attacker.
